Those from Max 5 and 4 do complain and might not be loading properly. The only problem I can see is that any bitmaps referenced by those materials may not be found (fixable by adding the paths in Configure User Paths). I did not move any files (or alter any paths) - I simply opened the Material Map Browser, clicked 'Open' and navigated to the correct directory in each case.
