Monday's hourlong, which was originally an unaired Season 1 episode, kept in line with 'Fringe's' procedural template and even revisited some of last year's storylines, but the decision to advertise what was an 'old' episode as a new one didn't help the cohesiveness of the serialized show. The Case: A dying girl, Lisa Donovan, is taken off life support, and while the doctors prep her for her post-death organ donor procedure, she dramatically comes back to life, reciting a series of numbers (which end up being classified military information) and exercising her new fluency in the Russian language.

While Olivia and Peter investigate further into her 'connection' with a missing soldier Andrew Rusk who had knowledge of those codes, Walter posits that Lisa may be channeling Rusk and that she may in fact be psychic after her sudden resurrection. Apparently, a person suffering a near-death experience has the ability to connect with those who have already passed on. Not as crazy as a six-feet worm coming out of your body without warning. This is one of those episodes that just hurt to watch. Not just because it was bad (and it was), but mainly because it seems that someone understood that it was bad, and gave it a proper burial back during season one. But for some reason somebody decided to desecrate its grave, exhume the body, and parade the corpse for all the world to see. This was a 'lost' episode from season one. If you didn't know that, you might have been confused as to why Charlie Francis was magically back from the dead.

It would've been nice if Fox had explained that better in the build up to this oddly placed, Monday night episode. The story starts with the apparent death of a young girl, which then leads to fairly typical TV hospital drama. Then things turn a little freaky when the young lady pops up during her own organ removal surgery, but in the world of Fringe openings, this is rather mundane. Carrara 8.5 Pro. Ok, first of all, thank God for Twitter. When Charlie Francis showed up in a scene, I immediately turned to my Twitter friends and said, 'What the heck?! Someone please explain why Charlie is here when I thought both Good Charlie and Evil Charlie were dead and gone.' About 500 other people were asking the same question, and a few smart ones gave us the answer: It's an unaired episode from season one.

That's what they said. I can't confirm or deny, but it makes sense. Doesn't it seem weird, though, to air such an old episode?

Wasn't that an awesome scene where Walter nearly got into a fist fight with the priest? The whole episode was an interesting intersect between science and faith, not to mention the whole 'being possessed by a dead person because your brain waves crossed during life and death' thing.
